The first Series 12 displays are available in 58-, 65- and 85-inch formats. Horizontal or vertical mounting options combined with interchangeable video-input modules open up a wide variety of applications. NeoPDP provides 1,080-line moving-picture resolution to prevent unwanted trailing effects and a contrast ratio of 40,000:1 for high-contrast, extremely detailed images. The technical features of the new plasma displays allow information of every kind to be presented in an attention-grabbing and audience-effective way.
“The introduction of Series 12 with NeoPDP technology is another step in Panasonic’s strategy to assume the leading role in the large-display market,” explains Eduard Gajdek, Product Manager for Professional Displays, Germany/Austria, at Panasonic. “The professional-applications market is demanding ever larger displays, including for public large-screen displays, presentations and events. Series 12 meets the industry’s need for large-format, energy-saving displays that are flexible and reliable while also offering the high image quality expected by professional AV users.”
Chris McIntyre-Brown, Head of Professional IT & Imaging at FutureSource, predicts the new product line’s prospects: “The market for large screens of 65 inches or more is expected to experience strong growth in the coming quarters as the major economies recover from recession, rationalisation effects on the production side lead to sharp price reductions, and end users prefer even larger displays for communication, advertising, entertainment and information purposes. Digital-signage applications, in all their forms, will undoubtedly be the decisive growth drivers in this category. Rapid acceptance of large displays is also expected in the presentation sector as the AV budget situation eases and companies abandon the purchasing restraint practised over the past year.”
The Series 12 displays have an especially slim design, making every model lighter and therefore particularly easy to transport and install. The displays are designed for continuous round-the-clock operation, feature impact-resistant front glass and have a service life of up to 100,000 hours*, making them an economical long-term solution. Series 12 can be adapted flexibly to user-specific requirements: the plasma displays offer freely configurable module slots into which a wide range of optional connection boards can be inserted. Depending on requirements and application, digital or analogue inputs and various functional extensions can be added.
The first Series 12 models will enter the European market in November and December.
