The Inventor Publisher Technology Preview is available now as a free download from Autodesk Labs, the company explains. Inventor Publisher is an easy-to-use program for creating technical documentation in 3D that provides clear, comprehensible technical instructions. Until now, product documentation was generally created as 2D manuals in which the clarity of the images is especially important, the statement continues. With Inventor Publisher, 3D documentation can now be created in addition to 2D documentation, offering a highly user-friendly way to communicate instructions for assembly, repair or maintenance visually and comprehensibly.
Inventor Publisher allows manufacturers to create detailed technical illustrations and animations easily, the company continues. Special tools connected directly to CAD data automatically create exploded drawings, image sequences and full-motion animations from various views. Documentation can be saved in a wide range of formats including SWF, AVI, DWF, PPT and PDF, as well as other common image formats.
For companies, this offers the advantage that technical documentation can be created directly from the digital prototype. It is also produced at the same time as the product, shortening time to market. Rework and inefficient workflows are thereby avoided.
