ASCON, developer and integrator of CAD/AEC/PLM solutions, announces the 2010 seminar topics for online training in 2D and 3D CAD using KOMPAS-3D V11.

The first two seminars are planned for January 20 and February 3, 2010.

According to company information, online webinars for KOMPAS solutions are available to current and potential customers, 3D beginners, company partners and anyone interested in professional, easy-to-learn and cost-effective MCAD software. All participants can benefit from getting to know the powerful mechanical CAD solutions online and receive support and advice on KOMPAS-3D and KOMPAS-Graphic completely free of charge, it continues.

The web seminars will be held in English by specialists from ASCON and cover general 2D and 3D modelling topics based on the KOMPAS-3D system, as well as examining the new features in KOMPAS-3D V11 compared with previous versions, the company explains.

Brief overview of upcoming seminars:

  1. KOMPAS-3D V11 new functions. Overview of new functions: 3D modelling.
  2. KOMPAS-3D V11 new functions. Overview of new functions: 2D modelling

    and interface.

  3. New applications: standard parts, Unwrap Add-On, Steel Structures 3D.
  4. Sketch mode: importing DWG / DXF geometry, creating a real sketch with

parameterisation, constraints and variables in sketch mode.

  5. Part creation: importing 3D geometry, overview of part-creation functionality,

multibody interface, Boolean functions with parameterisation,

    variables, etc.

  6. 2D in KOMPAS-Graphic: drawing development. During this seminar

we demonstrate the entire process of creating a part drawing - from creation

of the new document to printing.

  7. Sheet-metal part modelling: overview of techniques in KOMPAS-3D.

  8. Multibody interface and Boolean functionality.

  9. Assembly creation: assembly modelling.

  10. Assembly creation: parameterisation in the assembly.

  11. Working with BOM: bill-of-materials creation and editing.

  12. Pipelines 3D: examples of pipeline design with 3D Pipelines.

  13. CAE stress analysis with APM Studio FEM: examples of working with the application.

  14. CAE dynamic and kinematic analysis with UM-Express: examples of working

    with the application.
