Thanks to its extreme wide-angle lens, the PLC-WL2500 needs only 86 centimetres from the projection surface to achieve an image diagonal of 80 inches. The successor to the PLC-WXL46A is also particularly low-maintenance and resource-efficient, as the lamp offers a service life of up to 4,000 hours in Eco mode and the filter also needs replacing only after 4,000 hours. ISE visitors can see the new multimedia projector at SANYO’s stand I 118 in hall 10.

The PLC-WL2500 has WXGA resolution (1,280 x 800 pixels), thereby taking account of the growing trend towards widescreen resolution in 16:10 format. It is ideally suited for use in conjunction with interactive whiteboards or in small conference rooms. Thanks to the low throw ratio of 0.49:1, the projector can be positioned particularly close to the projection surface. This prevents shadows on the screen and avoids dazzling the speaker.

Compared with the previous model, SANYO has increased lamp life by 30 percent, achieving a maximum operating time of 4,000 hours. Maintenance effort has also been reduced for the filter. A filter change is now required only approximately every 4,000 hours. The cycle has thus been extended twentyfold compared with the PLC-WXL46A. This is made possible by SANYO’s hybrid filter system, which consists of multiple layers. As a result, the PLC-WL2500 causes lower operating costs than comparable models and is particularly resource-efficient.

The ultra-wide-angle projector offers a brightness of 2,500 ANSI lumens and a contrast ratio of 500:1, thereby enabling good readability in conference rooms, lecture theatres and classrooms. Thanks to the integrated 10-watt loudspeaker, the PLC-WL2500 is particularly suitable for multimedia presentations. The device is also equipped with Color Board mode and can therefore be optimally adapted to projection surfaces of different colours.

Administrators can access the PLC-WL2500 directly through the RJ-45 connection and control and maintain it centrally. PIN Code Lock and a steel pin integrated into the projector for security chains provide protection against theft. Thanks to the Direct Power On/Off function, the device can be switched on and off without waiting, so it is ready to transport immediately after the presentation ends. Both in educational institutions and companies, the MyLogo function ensures a professional and distinctive appearance, as company logos can be integrated as required.

Price and availability

The recommended retail price for the PLC-WL2500 is 1,250 euros plus VAT. SANYO grants a three-year warranty on the device and a 24-hour replacement service in Germany, Switzerland, Italy and France. The lamp has a warranty of one year or a maximum of 2,000 operating hours. The projector will be available from June 2010.
