The thriller, which opened in 2,991 cinemas and had just celebrated its acclaimed world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival, was well above Scorsese’s previous best result, achieved with “The Departed”. SHUTTER ISLAND marks the fourth collaboration between Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio and is also their most successful.

SHUTTER ISLAND opens in Germany next Thursday, distributed by Concorde Filmverleih.
