“Smoke on Mac – that is the optimal finishing solution for our customers,” says Jürgen Firsching, Managing Director of dve GmbH. “As an experienced Apple Solution Expert in the post-production and broadcast market and now once again as an Autodesk reseller, we are pleased that Autodesk is now using our market experience to give customers the best offer for Smoke on Mac.”
Autodesk Smoke on Mac is extremely fast 64-bit editing and finishing software that connects editing, colour correction, 3D, compositing, titling and finishing as a creative hub. Smoke on Mac allows users to switch easily between the individual work areas. Jürgen Firsching: “It is reliable, saves time, offers every creative possibility and is production-safe.”
Autodesk Color Management now gives dve customers using Smoke on Mac the ability to use 3D lookup tables (3D LUTs) as in Autodesk Flame, Autodesk Flare and Autodesk Lustre. This allows the colour and lighting decisions for material from editing to be adopted efficiently – costs and time for renewed colour and lighting work fall noticeably.
Smoke on Mac is 100% compatible with Autodesk Flame for finishing and visual effects. Timelines, clips and metadata can be processed without difficulty using Autodesk Lustre. There is also a transparent workflow with Apple Final Cut Pro and Avid Media Composer software. Smoke on Mac supports all important digital formats including RED Code RAW, Panasonic P2, Sony XDCAM HD, Apple QuickTime, Adobe Photoshop, multichannel OpenEXR and Autodesk FBX software interchange format.
For the launch, dve GmbH is offering attractive “Smoke is back home” bundles comprising Apple Mac Pro computers and Autodesk Smoke on Mac. Immediately after sales activities began, the first Smoke on Mac was sold to Hubbert von Sonntag Filmproduktion GmbH in Mülheim/Ruhr.
