DVS has equipped Bangkok post-production house Oriental Post with leading-edge technology: with the help of a CLIPSTER and a SpycerBox SAN, Oriental Post is expanding its service portfolio. Alongside data management, SpycerBox SAN optimises the connection between different clients. CLIPSTER acts as the link within the workflow thanks to its real-time functions including conforming, RED data processing and DCI mastering.
Oriental Post benefits from the open interfaces of the flexible DVS systems and their perfect integration into the existing DI infrastructure. CLIPSTER and SpycerBox also accelerate the post-production workflow substantially: as comprehensive and powerful solutions, the DI workstation and storage system meet both feature-related and structural requirements at Oriental Post.
Thanks to its unique hardware platform and specially developed hardware accelerator, CLIPSTER handles both decoding and demosaicing of RED RAW data in real time at full 4K quality in 12-bit RGB. RAW data can be played back directly, edited on the timeline and output simultaneously in 4K. CLIPSTER also generates DCI masters in 3D: the DI workstation combines image data for the left and right eyes into a stereoscopic video track on the timeline, from where it can then be used as an independent track.
SpycerBox transfers even high-resolution projects quickly and reliably. The storage solution can be used from every workstation both as a SAN system and as NAS (Network Attached Storage). Oriental Post benefits from powerful storage in a 5U enclosure that gives different workstations direct access. The fast data transfer between individual workstations and SpycerBox saves editors and colourists considerable time.
