Fantastic themes are particularly well suited to leaving the limits of everyday life behind and giving free rein to one’s own creativity. This year, for the first time, Role Play Convention is dedicating the RPC Fantasy Award to these themes and creative ideas, and the award will be presented for the first time as part of this year’s RPC. “The award is intended as guidance for customers looking for outstanding games and media with which they can experience extraordinary moments,” says Andre Kuschel, organiser of RPC. The winners will be selected by an RPC expert jury and honoured live at the event. The categories are (*):
• PC and console games
• Pen-and-paper role-playing games
• Board games
• Tabletop and miniatures
• Literature & comics
• LARP
Conditions of Entry
The RPC Fantasy Award is an RPC product in collaboration with Games Orbit. Companies wishing to participate should register for the award by emailing daniel@rpc-germany.de with the subject “RPC Fantasy Award”. The RPC organisers will then contact the companies and discuss the details. Up to three products can be entered in each product group. Every participant must also provide prizes to serve as incentives among those voting in the public poll between March 1 and April 16, 2010. The RPC Fantasy Award evaluates products from the entire previous year, including the current year through February 28, and covers the broad field of fantastic genres (fantasy, science fiction, mystery, crime, horror, pirates, the Middle Ages, manga and so on) across every games and media sector.
Products submitted by companies must have been published in German between January 1, 2009, and February 28, 2010 (product expansions are permitted). From all participating products, the RPC jury nominates a limited selection. All nominated products may then carry the “Nominated” logo. Beginning March 1, 2010, the public votes on the nominations online. The winners are determined in this way. All winners may then display the placement logo on their product, websites and promotional materials.
(*) Further categories and changes reserved. The jury also reserves the right to honour special products (including those from other product groups) in individual aspects with jury awards.
