Autodesk Smoke 2010 on Mac OS X, the software for creative editing, finishing and 3D compositing, offers powerful visual-effects functionality successfully used in projects ranging from commercials and broadcast design to television series.
Jens Herold, Managing Director of creative tools: “We are pleased to expand our product portfolio with Autodesk Smoke on Mac! After already working very successfully with Autodesk between 1998 and 2004 and gaining extensive experience with the Systems products, in recent years we have also built up a high level of expertise in Apple-based systems as an Apple Solution Expert Creative.
The considerable number of systems we have installed confirms to us that the Mac is also a powerful platform for high-end post-production.
Today, post-processing uncompressed HD in 4:4:4 or 1080 50P and even in 2K is no problem with an appropriately configured complete system.
In addition, Smoke users on the Mac can now post-process Apple ProRes, Avid DNxHD, XDCAM and P2 without difficulty.
Since we can offer Smoke on Mac for research and education at extremely attractive terms, we assume that significantly more well-trained artists will soon be available for Smoke.
We see great potential for Smoke on Mac particularly among those who previously decided against an Autodesk system for financial reasons.”
