According to the institution, HAW Hamburg, in cooperation with H&H GmbH, is holding a specialist conference on rapid prototyping (RP) for the ninth time on March 26 from 1:30 p.m. at its Berliner Tor campus. Rapid prototyping is regarded as a key technology for the future of industrial manufacturing. RP comprises processes that produce workpieces and products directly from design data without manual intermediate steps or moulds.
Under the motto “Innovations and Applications in Development and Production”, experts from research, industry and business will discuss, among other topics, new applications for the various processes in aircraft and shipbuilding, architecture and medical technology. The presentation of the Student Award Rapid Prototyping, awarded to HAW Hamburg students for outstanding RP models, is a highlight of the event.
An exhibition will also present RP systems, models and product-development services spanning design, simulation and modelling through to series production. Business representatives can obtain information free of charge and discuss their own problems at the conference.
