There has been a change on the executive board of Gameforge AG, the world’s leading independent provider of online games. Founder Alexander Rösner (40), CTO, and Christoph Jennen (43), CFO, now jointly manage the company. Previous CEO and co-founder Klaas Kersting (30) is leaving the company by mutual agreement to pursue new challenges. He made a significant contribution to building the company and will continue to support Gameforge in a friendly and advisory capacity.

Since Gameforge AG was founded by Rösner and Kersting in 2003, the company has grown rapidly to become the world’s largest independent provider of browser- and client-based online games. Today, around 400 employees generate revenue of more than 100 million euros.

New CEO Alexander Rösner was one of the founders of Schlund + Partner, Germany’s first major web-hosting provider. The computer-science graduate subsequently developed the game OGame in 2002, which has been played by more than 40 million people to date. “Together, we will continue to expand Gameforge’s leading position worldwide,” says Rösner. “The best online games will come from Gameforge again this year.”

Christoph Jennen has served as CFO at Gameforge since October 2008. The 43-year-old business-administration graduate worked at KPMG, Arthur Andersen and Global Sportnet, among others, before joining the executive board of DocMorris in 2002.
