At stand SL3305, NAB visitors can learn about CLIPSTER’s current features. In Las Vegas, the DVS flagship will appear with an even more extensive feature set, the manufacturer announces.
Alongside DPX, Cineon, TGA and TIFF, the advanced DI workstation supports more than 100 other graphics formats. CLIPSTER also handles formats including JPEG2000, QuickTime, Windows Media, MXF, MPEG 1/2, Panasonic DVCPRO, AVC-Intra, Sony XDCAM and Avid DNxHD.
CLIPSTER’s Digital Acquisition eliminates the need to process many different RAW formats separately: the award-winning DI workstation combines RAW data from RED, ARRI D-20/D-21 and Phantom cameras on a single timeline, performing both decoding and demosaicing of all RAW formats in real time. CLIPSTER now also supports RAW material from Silicon Imaging’s SI-2K camera. All real-time effects in CLIPSTER can be applied at resolutions up to 4K, including to RAW deliverables. While the DI workstation generates digital deliverables at maximum speed, the RAW data passes through conforming processes. CLIPSTER also provides advanced burn-in features and a wide range of deliverable formats at maximum speed.
CLIPSTER also supports intermediate formats in JPEG2000 RGB at 500 Mbit, such as IMF, when creating multimedia deliverables for IPTV, DVD, Blu-ray, mobile phones, web applications or game consoles. Conceived as a file-based library, the intermediate format produces a digital master from which a wide variety of output formats can be created. CLIPSTER transcodes the desired delivery version from the IMF.
Post-production houses benefit particularly from the DI workstation’s latest DCI capabilities: CLIPSTER generates 3D DCPs (Digital Cinema Packages) in real time and accelerates DCI mastering and 3D subtitling in 4K thanks to high-quality DVS hardware. While CLIPSTER processes 3D DCI projects, the DI workstation combines image data for the left and right eyes into a stereoscopic video track on the timeline, from where it can then be used as an independent track. A broad range of stereoscopic real-time workflows enables users to handle 3D material effortlessly.
