Starting in April 2010, Autodesk and its sales partners will present the new generation of its building construction and civil engineering solutions as part of its AEC Days. At more than 200 events in various cities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, interested visitors can experience the Autodesk technologies and working methods

of the new versions live. Depending on their specialisation, the

sales partners will demonstrate individual solutions from the broad range of ADSK software

that can be used to analyse, visualise and simulate construction projects before they are realised.

The events focus on Autodesk products for Building Information Modeling (BIM): Autodesk Revit Architecture 2011 for architectural design, Autodesk Revit Structure 2011 for structural engineering, AutoCAD Civil 3D 2011 for civil engineering, Autodesk Navisworks 2011 for construction sequencing and data consolidation, and Autodesk 3ds Max Design 2011 for visualisation. BIM is an integrated process that allows architects, engineers, construction companies and clients to analyse a project digitally in detail before construction begins. With coordinated, reliable information throughout the

entire process, innovative projects can be planned in detail, the appearance of the planned construction project can be visualised precisely, and real factors such as costs, planning processes and environmental influences can be understood more clearly. “Investing in BIM technologies offers planners and construction companies many advantages. They can visualise, simulate and analyse the economic efficiency, design and costs of their projects more accurately. This allows more resource-efficient buildings and infrastructure to be created, or outdated infrastructure to be refurbished or renewed,” says Peter Rummel, Channel and Country Marketing Specialist Central Europe at Autodesk. “The Autodesk events are an ideal opportunity for interested visitors to learn about the latest products and versions and see how they can benefit from them.”
