From April 12 to 15, DVS will present the latest addition to the DVS family: the Fuze DCI workstation is a valuable addition for post-production houses focusing on digital cinema.
With Fuze, DVS is ushering in a new era of DCI mastering: designed for file-based digital cinema delivery including DCPs, Fuze meets the steadily growing demands of professional post-production. Fuze handles stereoscopic 3D content as easily as 2D material, creates and encrypts DCPs at maximum speed, and provides subtitling at resolutions up to 2K.
In accordance with DCI specifications, Fuze generates fast and secure 3D DCPs. The integrated wizard guides users through all specified stages of stereoscopic DCI mastering. These include functions such as compression, interleaving and encryption into MXF files. The unique DVS hardware accelerator performs these processes in real time.
In addition, Fuze includes a flexible Cinema Reel editing tool and enables scaling, colour-space conversion and encoding into compressed formats. Fuze generates DCPs at maximum speed and reliably performs quality checks throughout the entire process. The flexible DCI mastering solution creates supplementary DCPs that provide users with structure and clarity.
Post-production houses requiring DCPs for multimedia applications such as IPTV, DVD, Blu-ray, mobile phones, web applications or game consoles can use Fuze’s support for intermediate formats such as IMF. Fuze effortlessly processes JPEG2000 RGB at 500 Mbit, thus enabling the desired versions of the most common video formats, audio files and subtitles. Conceived as a file-based library, the intermediate format produces a digital master from which a wide variety of delivery formats can be created. Fuze transcodes the desired delivery version from the IMF.
