The Panasonic AG-AF100 records video in various HD image formats. In detail, according to the manufacturer, these are: 1080/60i, 50i, 30p, 25p and 24p. In reduced HD formats, it supports 720/60p, 50p, 30p, 25p and 24p. The recording format is AVCHD.
The recorded data is stored on SDHC and SDXC cards. The device has two card slots that can be fitted with SDXC cards of up to 2 x 64 GB, allowing a maximum of 12 hours of video material to be recorded at the highest bit rate. The maximum bit rate is 24 MBit per second. The AG-AF100 can be switched between 60 Hz and 50 Hz, and sound is recorded at a maximum of 48 kHz in 16 bit.
The camcorder has a 4/3 MOS image sensor and can work with any bayonet lenses. This applies to telephoto lenses, standard zooms and ultra-wide-angle lenses.
Lenses from other systems can also be connected. However, an appropriate adapter is then required, and autofocus is deactivated in this configuration. Lens adapters are available, for example, for Nikon, Canon FD lenses, Leica R and Monolta SR.

The device’s interfaces include HD-SDI out, HDMI and USB. A microphone and two XLR connections are also integrated. The AG-AF100 comes onto the market at the end of 2010; the price has not yet been set.
