There is a new home in Saxony-Anhalt for business founders in creative professions. On May 4, 2010, Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle opens DesignHausHalle with a large festive programme and invites interested members of the public and the business community to get to know the building and its residents.
“At last, the creative potential trained here at Burg Giebichenstein can be retained in Halle with optimal conditions for founding businesses,” said DesignHausHalle director Doris Sossenheimer.
The freshly renovated DesignHausHalle, with its 25 business start-up offices, will open its doors to visitors on May 4 from 3 p.m. The studios and offices will present the services they offer. Public specialist discussions will take place in three of these offices.
During the official ceremony beginning at 5 p.m., the state’s Minister of Education and Cultural Affairs, Pof. Dr Jan-Hendrik Olbertz, and the Minister of Economics and Labour, Dr Reiner Haseloff, will speak.
DesignHausHalle connects design and business, art and the market, teaching and professional life. Its task is to support the transition between artistic and design education and professional life, and to act publicly as a representative of the interests of these professional groups. The building is an event forum for the creative industries and their partners, supports students and graduates of the art university through a career service, and communicates career-related expertise in the form of continuing-education events.
DesignHausHalle is an institution of Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle and is managed by the Transfer Centre. It is a “Selected Landmark 2010” in the Land of Ideas.
