Sonnet Technologies announces that the DX800RAID storage system with eight hard drives has recently been used at London studio Future Cut Productions for production, mixing and remixing. Albums by artists such as Shakira, Rihanna and Sophie Ellis-Bextor have already been produced with it.
Alongside its high speed, the decisive factor in choosing Fusion DX800RAID was its reliability, which guarantees absolute data security even if one or two drives fail.
Before using Fusion DX800RAID, the studio worked with external FireWire data storage, a rather unreliable and slow solution.

Thanks to the eight 1 TB hard drives, a data-transfer rate of up to 815 MB/s in read mode and 715 MB/s in write mode can be achieved. In the event of a hard-drive failure, RAID 4, 5 and 6 guarantee data protection without loss of performance. Internal SAS expansions allow an additional 16 systems to be connected to one controller card.
Fusion DX800RAID is compliant with SES (SCSI Enclosure Services) 2.0. SES allows drive, power-supply and temperature data to be displayed in real time. S.M.A.R.T. (Self Monitoring Analysis and Reporting Technology) warns the user before critical operating conditions occur.
Fusion DX800RAID is compatible with Mac OS X, Windows 7, Vista, Server and XP, as well as Linux.
