According to RTT, together with the RTT PDMConnector and RTT Composer modules, the new version 5.5 has even better functions for collaboration between different teams, more efficient workflows and greater flexibility in image generation.
RTT PictureBook 5.5 offers a wide range of new functions for better collaboration and optimised workflows, the company continues. While the previous version still had different viewers for individual asset types, users can now view and compare all 2D and 2.5D assets in a single viewer with the new MediaViewer. Alongside Multi-View and Overlay, a transparency mode is available among the viewing options. Sketches and annotations can be created in every viewing mode, according to RTT. A marketing department, for example, can therefore return feedback to designers more easily through RTT PictureBook.
RTT PictureBook 5.5 also has improved data-exchange options. Users can easily share their own AssetCollections and search-criteria-based SmartFolders with other users. This shortens the time spent searching for the right files and thereby simplifies team collaboration. User permissions can define who receives access and who may make which changes to the files. For storing old file versions, RTT PictureBook 5.5 provides a new ZIP function that makes organising such assets easier. Files that are no longer needed are compressed and stored together. Users can thereby bring order to their assets and access current, frequently needed files more quickly.
RTT PDMConnector – Connecting Two Worlds
RTT PictureBook 5.5 brings a decisive innovation to the 3D visualisation market with direct access to PDM data. With RTT PDMConnector, CAD data can be transferred directly from the leading Siemens TeamCenter® PLM software through RTT PictureBook 5.5 into RTT DeltaGen. This can accelerate workflows in real-time 3D visualisation considerably. Users can access assembly structures and geometry data directly from TeamCenter®; updates to geometry data are also available and can be used immediately for their own project. Visualisations therefore always correspond to the current state of geometry and assembly data.
RTT Composer – Maximum Flexibility in Image Generation
RTT PictureBook has also gained functionality for image generation. In conjunction with RTT PowerHouse 1.5, RTT Composer allows interactive 3D models to be used in real time through a web browser to generate product images completely independently of operating system, hardware and location – from the right camera perspective and ideal environment to the desired product variants.
This is supported by the Angle and 2DArt features. Angle makes it possible to find the optimum camera perspectives for a product at an early design stage. Using the parameters height, distance and focal length, users can identify the “best shots” for their product quickly and easily. The selected settings can be reused in the 2DArt function and in RTT DeltaGen. The 2DArt feature can be used to create high-quality images for a wide variety of media in RTT PictureBook 5.5. 2DArt can take camera perspectives and viewing angles directly from Angle and thereby work immediately with the correct settings to generate convincing product images.
Powered by RTT PowerHouse 1.5 – Easiest Access to 3D Models and Images on the Web
Interactive access to 3D models and images is also extremely simple: the assets are available online in RTT PictureBook through a web browser. The operating system, hardware used and location therefore no longer matter to the user. This is possible because RTT PictureBook 5.5 has a direct connection to the RTT PowerHouse 1.5 real-time server, which provides the corresponding functions and data over the internet. Even complex 3D models or film sequences, for example, can thus be edited easily in a web browser – the data is calculated and prepared centrally and securely on the server. Data security is guaranteed at all times because the integrated rights management ensures that only authorised people can access and edit the files.
