Whether advertising games or advertising in games, the possibilities for promoting computer games – or, viewed the other way round, products in the context of games – are diverse. However, all advertising measures, whether implemented in a game or intended to promote the actual computer-game product, are subject to strict legal regulations.
Anyone who wants to advertise computer games, finance them partly through advertising or present their product within a game should therefore have at least elementary knowledge of the current legal situation. In his talk ‘…and Now for the Advertising,’ lawyer Dr Andreas Lober of the Schulte Riesenkampff firm explains the fundamentals of advertising law.
