Archiware presents the latest generation of its PresSTORE P4 data-management software, with a smart interface, iPhone app and Progressive Backup. The new smart browser interface guides users through the software. The PresSTORE mobile iPhone app enables PresSTORE servers to be monitored on the move, while Progressive Backup is a new concept for backing up large volumes of data.
Everything in the Browser
PresSTORE P4’s browser-based interface provides the easiest access and maximum flexibility. Guides assist with setup and operation. The first backup can be running after just a few minutes. Users can log in to their PresSTORE server from any computer to configure and administer it. Different user groups can receive graduated access to backup and archive.
Progressive Backup
Backing up large volumes of data is made easier by a new concept. Partial backups complete themselves automatically. Without any full backup, data is backed up as the individual production allows. Restore capability exists from the outset. The weekend backup window of 60 hours and approximately 20 TB limit (at 100 MB/s) is easily left behind. PresSTORE Backup also takes care of rotating and maintaining tapes in the library. Setting up and operating tape libraries has never been so easy.
iPhone App – PresSTORE mobile
With the new PresSTORE mobile iPhone app, the PresSTORE server can now be monitored at any time while on the move. Running and scheduled jobs can now be viewed anytime and anywhere. PresSTORE mobile shows the storage pool’s fill level, and a warning threshold can be freely set for each pool. Particularly important workstations backed up with Backup2Go can also be monitored separately. If an adjustable period without backup is exceeded, a notification is displayed, and the respective user can easily be notified through the direct link to contacts on the iPhone.
Xsan Support
PresSTORE P4 offers full Xsan support, including migration. For large file volumes, the integration of FS Events enables highly optimised workflow processes. Changed files are detected automatically.
