For anyone aspiring to a career in the exciting and diverse media industry, AEP GmbH Digital Arts Academy offers the opportunity to train as a 3D artist or graphic artist. The training begins on October 1, lasts three years and is state-recognised. It is aimed at school leavers who are interested in computer-generated visual worlds in the broadest sense, especially 3D design, animation, game-content production, or graphic and web design, and who are looking for high-quality and affordable training.
Over three years, students learn to analyse, plan and professionally produce print and online media or 3D visualisations and animations. Practising specialists, designers, film producers, artists, illustrators, media-computer scientists and lawyers impart the extensive knowledge.
Admission involves an application process. A written application with covering letter, CV and copies of certificates, as well as a portfolio, are expected. The portfolio must be created within four weeks. The subjects are specified. The portfolio is discussed jointly and determines admission to the academy.
“The media industry needs creative specialists who not only master the technical know-how but also have ideas and are well trained in design in order to implement demanding projects,” says Ralf Voss, academic director at AEP. “The market is developing rapidly, particularly in 3D visualisation and 3D animation.”
Summer Academy
To help guide this important decision about a professional future, AEP is holding a Summer Academy for the first time from July 12–23, 2010. Over two exciting weeks, participants can try out campus life and learning at a private vocational school. The Summer Academy offers an insight into the three-year 3D Arts | Graphic Arts course at AEP.
