Traditional studio Twentieth Century Fox is turning 75 and popping the corks for the anniversary year: since May 14, 2010, film lovers have found “75 Top Films That Thrill” in the Hollywood Collection. The selection ranges from new blockbusters such as the hit “Ice Age 3 – Dawn of the Dinosaurs” and “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”, through legendary cult films such as “Alien”, to classics such as “Cleopatra”.
To mark the anniversary, DIGITAL PRODUCTION is giving away three titles from the Hollywood Collection, “I, Robot”, “Planet of the Apes” (1968) and “X-Men: The Last Stand”, along with the DVDs “Master & Commander” and “Butch Cassidy & Sundance Kid”.
75 years of success
The merger of the two studios “Fox Film Studio” and “Twentieth Century Pictures” gave birth to “Twentieth Century Fox” 75 years ago. Since then, FOX has represented the most successful films of all time, such as “Avatar” and “Titanic”, the biggest stars from Marilyn Monroe to Nicole Kidman, and the best directors such as James Cameron and Steven Spielberg. The Hollywood Collection has also been one of Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment’s major successes since 2005. Whether comedy, family cinema or thriller, the Hollywood Collection’s familiar logo represents a large selection of top films and the best entertainment on DVD and Blu-ray at a top price.
75 films that thrill
To mark its 75th anniversary, FOX is expanding the Hollywood Collection to a total of 75 top films: alongside new titles such as the worldwide mega-hit “Ice Age 3 – Dawn of the Dinosaurs”, major classics and cult films are providing the best entertainment for the anniversary for the first time, including the brilliant monumental film “Cleopatra”, the adaptation of the legendary musical “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” and the cult science-fiction film “Alien”. The collection also includes the cinema hit “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” starring Hugh Jackman, Baz Luhrmann’s screen epic “Australia” and Mel Gibson’s Oscar®-winning historical drama “Braveheart” in improved picture quality – with 75 top titles, the Hollywood Collection offers more variety and choice than ever before!
Major anniversary party with ProSieben
To celebrate the year, FOX launched a unique anniversary campaign in cooperation with ProSieben: until July 31, 2010, film fans can test their film knowledge at http://www.Kino.ProSieben.de. The major “75 Years of Films That Thrill” quiz offers tricky questions each week in categories such as “Big Stars” and “Cult Films”. Passion for film is rewarded with attractive weekly and main prizes.
