The current generation of the SpycerBox family once again doubles the previous capacity of the SpycerBox and focuses on the latest SAS technology, which particularly benefits post-production and broadcast customers.

The central media hub offers the capabilities of a complete SAN system and proves to be a fast and cost-efficient storage solution. Post-production houses and broadcasters can also integrate the SpycerBox Flex in its NAS variant into their existing storage architecture without difficulty through the large number of supported high-speed interfaces. The special feature of the SpycerBox is that it is also available as a combination of the two variants. This means that customers receive a highly integrated complete package, reducing the effort required to build the infrastructure to a minimum.

DVS once again doubles the capacity of its SpycerBox: the SpycerBox Flex has 28.8 TByte. With the new 2.5-inch SAS technology and 48 hard drives, the storage solution is one of the more ambitious solutions in terms of rack density and performance per rack unit. Configured as a SAN, the SpycerBox Flex combines both image-data and metadata storage in a housing of only five rack units. This is accompanied by a performance increase: while simultaneously increasing data throughput, the latest 6-gigabit SAS technology (Serial Attached SCSI) is integrated at all hardware levels of the SpycerBox Flex: in the hard drives, the backplane and the controllers. In addition to the SAS and NAS variants, customers can implement another application with the SpycerBox Flex: several SpycerBox Flex units can be expanded into a cluster solution.
