IBC 2010: Edius 6

The included codecs for practically all video formats make transcoding unnecessary. According to the manufacturer, performance has been increased to such an extent that effects can be played in real time rather than having to be rendered first. Edius 6 now has an AVCHD engine that permits native multistream editing of AVCHD material in real time.

Furthermore, the PROXY function is said to have been revised, allowing work in a timeline with sequences from different sources and encodings – meaning that, with an installation on several systems, it also makes no difference which scene is located on which computer. The stated price range is 800 US dollars to 6,000 US dollars, depending on hardware configuration and scope.
