Following the new range of HD interfaces comes the new Pro Tools |HD Native audio-production solution. Although the Pro Tools HD software relies solely on the computing power of the host PC, users are intended to have the full functionality available. With this combination, users are not dependent on the special audio-processing hardware that is part of the DSP-based HD systems.
The newly released Native PCIe card thus provides open recording workflows with the Pro Tools HD software. With the new audio-interface solutions in the Pro Tools HD series, the system can be expanded to up to 64 I/O channels with excellent audio converters. Thanks to support for SYNC HD, post-production users are intended to be able to rely on precise synchronisation of picture and sound. In addition, integration of mixing control surfaces such as ICON and C|24 is available. Also welcome is support for DAWs from other manufacturers, which are intended to benefit from the low latencies, the integration of Avid hardware and system stability.
The Windows 7 and Snow Leopard 10.6 or later operating systems are supported. According to the manufacturer, Pro Tools | HD Native is due to be available worldwide from November 5, starting at 3,547 euros. The system can also be purchased as a bundle with Pro Tools HD OMNI I/O starting at 6,070 euros
