After Effects Rescue Script

Adobe After Effects on Mac OS X is ahead of Windows computers when it comes to clever features: a tool saves the current project at the moment After Effects freezes.

If After Effects stops responding when running under Mac OS X, the script uses the crash-recovery function to force a copy of the currently open project, thereby preventing data loss if more recent changes have not yet been saved.

The script was implemented using the Pipline tools described by Eric Bauer in “Adobe After Effects CS4: Optimize the Pipeline”.
