For the time being, the results are still somewhat unpolished, but as a “proof of concept”, Trimensional already performs very well. In a dark room, the object is simply illuminated by a defined light source, the phone’s screen. From the data, the software then assembles a textured or untextured wireframe model that can be rotated and turned in various ways.
From the next software version, it will become interesting for use in a professional environment, as export as an OBJ file is expected to be added. Interesting objects could thus be scanned quickly while on the move and then imported as a basic template with the correct proportions into the modelling tool of choice.
