On the roadmap published on Nvidia’s blog for its “Tegra” mobile platform, the chip manufacturer shows what the competition will have to measure itself against in the coming months.
The bar for “Tegra 3” was set at: four CPU cores, a GPU with 12 cores and a maximum resolution of 2560 by 1600 pixels, which corresponds to roughly five times the performance of Tegra2. To what extent Nvidia itself clears this bar remains to be seen – but in any case, the end of the “Atom” processor is thus foreseeable.
