Harry Potter: A Unique Success Story
On the occasion of the unique “Harry Potter” success story, which will reach a worthy conclusion with the second part of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” at the end of the year, FMX 2011 devotes its own series of talks to the popular apprentice wizard. The programme track is curated by Barbara Robertson and moderated by Chris DeFaria, Executive Vice President of Warner Bros. Pictures. DeFaria examines the influence of “Harry Potter” on global VFX production, focusing especially on the technical development since the first Potter film, “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone”, which now lies ten years in the past. As early as 2001, it immersed cinema audiences in Harry Potter’s imaginary world, not least thanks to its outstanding visual effects.
The highlight of the “Harry Potter” tribute will be an extensive presentation on the visual effects of every film in the series. For the first time, FMX 2011 brings together VFX experts from Cinesite, Double Negative, Framestore, MPC and ILM, offering a unique opportunity to follow a live discussion by some of the most renowned experts.
