According to Canon, files can now be transferred from any folder without having to copy the entire folder structure. The update is also intended to make data transfer easier from the Canon EOS 7D, EOS 5D Mark II and EOS-1D Mark IV models.
Thus the videos can can now also be loaded without the THM files generated by the camera. First presented in February 2010, the EOS Movie Plug-in E1 for Final Cut Pro accelerates and simplifies the transcoding of EOS video clips. However, the plug-in still does not enable direct import into Final Cut Pro without transcoding, as is now common with many PC editing systems.
The update for EOS Movie Plug-in E1 version 1.2 is expected to be available as a free download from the support area at http://www.canon.de from April 25, 2011.
