According to its own information, Sony Professional is adding two PVM models to its OLED Trimaster EL range: the 25-inch PVM-2541 monitor and the 17-inch PVM-1741 monitor. Both devices are designed for professional video production.
According to the manufacturer, Sony Professional’s new professional monitors build on Sony’s latest display technology: the BVM-E-series OLED reference monitors with an advanced display engine. They have outstanding image performance, achieve a wide colour gamut and a very good black level. They also use digital signal processing for accurate colour management. They therefore offer a fully fledged replacement for CRT devices. The BVM-E series is particularly suitable for master-monitor applications, and the two new PVM models for picture monitoring.
Users can choose between a 25-inch or a 17-inch model in both series, Sony continues. The OLED PVM-series monitors offer Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080) with 10-bit signal processing. They support several colour standards and deliver accurate image reproduction without motion blur.
The PVM-2541 and PVM-1741 are particularly suitable for use with the Sony PMW-F3, as they show clear contrast and colours even in bright ambient light. They also have the same controls as the mobile Sony OLED monitor PVM-740, with seven assignable buttons and new menu navigation.
Further features of the PVM OLEDs include integrated 3G HD-SDI inputs, serial and parallel remote control, timecode display, integrated audio display, internal oscilloscope, automatic white balance and DC operation (on the PVM-1741).
