The LightWeightSupport (LWS) 401-429 for the NEX-FS100 is designed so that a follow-focus unit can be fitted to all suitable lenses. The platform is adapted to the camera base and moves the camera as far forward as possible towards the support rods.
Chrosziel offers a Heavy Duty (HD) version, as it does for all single-chip cameras with a PL-mount lens connection. It features dual rod guidance and 440 mm-long rods with a diameter of 15 mm (LWS 401-429HD).
The HD-version lightweight support for the Sony PMW-F3 (LWS 401-415HD), first presented at the NAB Show in Las Vegas, has been revised once again. Its platform now extends across the entire camera base. In this way, it uses all support points on the camera body as well as the third thread at the rear of the base.
All HD versions offer sufficient space to work with handles and a shoulder pad, and with an external viewfinder if necessary.
The HD versions LWS 401-429HD and LWS 401-415HD cost 450 euros.
The lightweight supports LWS 401-429 and LWS 401-415 cost 290 euros.
According to Sony, anyone interested in the new camcorder will nevertheless have to be patient a little longer, as it will come onto the market between July and September.
