Only a PL Mount adapter is included with the Sony F3. Because of the sensor size, however, a wide variety of 35mm lenses are suitable for use. With the new PS-IMS-F3 lens adapter, the F3 can now also be fitted with Nikon, Leica and Canon still-photography lenses. Alongside lower purchase costs, the compact design and low weight are advantages of still-photography lenses. With the PS-IMS-F3 lens adapter, the F3 simply produces good pictures with these lenses too.

The PS-IMS-F3 system consists of an intermediate flange and various optional lens-mount rings for using almost all professional 35 mm lenses. The PL Mount included with the F3 is simply replaced with the PS-IMS-F3 intermediate flange. No modifications to the camera or FZ Mount are necessary. Thanks to the flange focal-depth adjustment function, the time-consuming shimming process is unnecessary when installing the PS-IMS-F3 system. The PS-IMS-F3 intermediate flange is, of course, compatible with all existing IMS lens-mount rings (except B4 and C Mount).
