DreamWorks’ production gives the superhero genre a completely new, insanely funny direction: an ingenious and at the same time clumsy villain, the antihero, becomes the favourite of the city’s residents, even though, for one thing, he is responsible for the death of Metro City’s former protector and, for another, has created a new villain: Titan is to become Metroman’s successor and thus a worthy opponent for Megamind, since his life without any challenger turns out to be very boring.
However, when Titan proves to be an even more unpredictable and malicious superhero than Megamind, the chapter of superhero stories is rewritten: the antihero becomes the hero.
And for the first time, Megamind learns what it means to be truly loved, appreciated and respected. He has switched sides, and together with his friend Minion his mission is now: do good!
The only question left is whether, as in all typical Hollywood productions, he gets the girl in the end and whether Metroman is really dead …
