The accompanying S3D®-Expo trade exhibition is open on all 3 days.
Admission is free for preregistered trade visitors, press and students.
The aim of the combined events is to provide, for the S3D (“Seeing in 3D”) field, an overview of the current state and an outlook on the near future for all relevant components of the entire value and marketing chain.
The special approach of the conference and trade exhibition spans both technologies and applications and places the customer-oriented complete solution at the center.
It will be possible to test the same image content on all S3D display technologies available on the market at the S3D®-Expo. On the one hand, this makes it easier to compare the individual basic technologies with one another.
On the other hand, it will also be shown in practice that the same basic S3D content, for example advertising or teaching material, can in principle be used or consumed in many different places, each with the appropriate display device (computer, TV, cinema, print and soon also smartphone).
All types of S3D content (photos, videos, animations, 3D models and scenes for interactive applications) will be created directly at the S3D-Expo and in the S3D workshop.
Every preregistered visitor to the events will receive an S3D Blu-ray produced on site containing, among other things, S3D demo trailers, PDFs of the conference presentations, useful software tools and, if desired, the visitor’s own S3D photo.
A special emphasis will be the use of the internet for S3D, including with 3DTVs. As a practical demonstration, presentations in 720p will be transmitted to the internet as S3D live streaming.
