Software for creating look files or supporting various third-party software is currently under development.

Further revisions are the SxS PRO card options for direct audio playback, an auto white balance that automatically determines red/blue white-balance and green/magenta values, and anamorphic de-squeeze.

The peaking focus check shows exactly which areas are sharp, and image comparisons with a second camera image in the viewfinder or JPEG still images from an SD card with the original image become feasible.

For the Alexa Plus, there is also the option of synchronizing two cameras in master/slave mode, so that the slave camera is guided completely by the master camera and stereographic recordings can be controlled without problems, even in hectic shooting situations.
