Christie Shows Its Work at the World’s Largest 3D Cinema Projection

Christie was there when a world record was set with the French 3D premiere of the Warner Bros. film “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2” on July 12 at the Palais Ominisports de Paris-Bercy. Guinness World Records officially confirmed the major event, in which the projection was shown on a screen 29.9 meters wide and 12.33 meters high.

A total of 8,500 spectators witnessed the epic finale between good and evil in stereo 3D. Six DLP Cinema projectors from the Christie Solaria Series were used.

The Christie CP2230, which were configured in two clusters of three projectors each, each have 32,000 lumens, according to the manufacturer.
Because each cluster projected one image per eye, the system achieved a passive 3D projection whose brightness was above the standard recommended by the Digital Cinema Initiative (DCI).
The Christie CP2230 features 2K technology with Brilliant3D and is Christie’s brightest digital cinema projector for screens up to almost 30.5 meters wide.
