HellHeaven Fx was developed by Persistant Studios in Paris, founded in 2005 and specialising in the development of real-time 3D applications. The real-time VFX solution is available for PC as well as the Xbox 360 and PS3 game consoles.
Editor
The download for the HellHeaven Fx Editor is free; it is said to have been tailored specifically to the games industry and to offer control over the important parameters in real time. HellHeaven Fx is said to offer support for Autodesk’s standard FBX format as well as common image formats such as dds, jpeg, png or tga. Other formats are said to be addable through custom code systems. If the source file is edited with an external editor such as Photoshop, Maya or 3ds Max, the editor’s Resource Watcher is said to allow a quick reload. The editor is said to allow individual particles selected in the real-time viewport to be controlled. Particle Highlighting is likewise said to be testable in the preview. The editor is currently available free of charge on a trial basis. Only when users definitively decide to work with HellHeaven FX and develop a game does the solution become subject to a charge. In this case, users can contact Persitant Studios through its website.
Developers
Game developers are said to be able to integrate HellHeaven Fx into the engine within a few days; the solution is said to offer good performance on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 and make optimum use of the specific characteristics of the different hardware. The game artists’ effect options are said to be controlled effectively by the gameplay code.
HellHeaven Fx was used for the game "Cursed Crusade", for example.
