According to Blackmagic Design, the structure of the interface was changed, but all functions are said to still be present, only better integrated. The core change was limiting the interaction rooms from ten to only five. Media, Conform, Color, Gallery, and Deliver are the start windows, which are also intended to make work clearer. The Conform Editor consists of a multitrack timeline that brings a further simplification of work: the functionality that allows videos to be dragged directly from the hard drive into the timeline and edited.
Alongside the interface changes, areas such as clip management or the interaction rooms were also optimized in detail, such as the Conform and Color Editors.
In addition, Blackmagic Design offers a special control panel intended to improve operating comfort even further.

The Lite variant of DaVinci Resolve will continue to be offered as before, and buyers who already own the previous version receive a free update to Version 9.
According to Blackmagic, the software is officially available for 995$ and with the control panel for 29,995$.
