Through the long-awaited software bridge, which was already presented at NAB, Fusion as well as Dimension can be connected directly to the Avid products Media Composer, Symphony, NewsCutter, and the DS product line.

One background to the development is that Avid and eyeon want to offer a realistic alternative to program workflows from Autodesk.

Access to the tools of Fusion, for example, is available directly from the Avid timeline through the effects palette. The purpose of the whole thing is to make editors’ work easier by allowing them to export clips with multiple layers quickly and easily to Fusion. According to eyeon, effects design can take place in Fusion and, after completion, be passed back to the Avid products.

eyeon is also bringing Dimension into focus, particularly because of the new stereoscopic tools. Fusion 6.4, on the other hand, offers direct support for RAW material from ARRI Alexa, Vision Research Phantom, and Red cameras.

Current eyeon subscribers can download the plug-in free of charge (just click the link).

Alternatively, a visit to the eyeone main page is an option. Particularly with regard to further pricing information.
