In times of the 3D cinema hype, companies such as Prime Focus World, a VFX studio from North America that specializes, among other things, in 3D conversions of feature films, are quite busy. After a lengthy legal dispute over a 3D conversion technology, the two companies Prime Focus World and Digital Domain Media Group have now reached an agreement. Prime Focus World now owns the license for the conversion technology from Digital Domain Media Group. Through this agreement, DDMG and Prime Focus World want to collaborate on visual effects and conversion services for feature films with immediate effect.
"The technology that Digital Domain Media Group has licensed to us expands the robust proprietary process for our customers." said Namit Malhotra, CEO and Chairman of Prime Focus World.
Some of the projects that Prime Focus World has recently completed include "Frankenweenie," "Total Recall," and "Transformers: Dark of the Moon."
