Flux is node-based software for creating all kinds of fluid simulations, developed by the South Korean company FXGear. According to FXGear, a major special feature of this program is intended to be the distribution of the individual computing clusters to other computers on the network. In combination, up to 128 cores are thus said to be supported for computing, running through approximately 34.4 frames per minute.

For further processing, the volumetric data, meshes, and particles can be exported to other software packages such as Max, Krakatoa, V-Ray, RealFlow, and also Houdini. According to FXGear, the Alembic format is also to be supported.

Starting September 10, interested parties can download a trial version from FXGear, while the full version for commercial use will not appear until toward the end of the year. Exactly when was not said, only that it would happen in the October/November period. We are nevertheless curious and will keep you up to date.
