Customers can choose between a 7.7" 8-bit OLED display or—in the smaller and less expensive version—a 7" LCD display with a resolution of 1280 x 800. For an additional 300 dollars, an SDI connection can optionally be selected alongside HDMI.
All AC7 monitors come with the same software package, which is said to include the features DSLR Scale, Image Flip, Focus in Red and double zoom. The least expensive version of the AC7 field monitor with the 7" LCD monitor is available for 599 dollars. For an additional 300 dollars, you get the additional SDI input. The field monitor with the 7.7" OLED monitor costs 1,099 dollars, while for 1,399 dollars you get the luxury model with an additional SDI input.
The advantages of OLED monitors are well known: they require less energy, do not get as hot and have high contrast. Whether the disadvantages, for example the shorter lifespan of blue OLEDs compared with LCD, have currently been solved will only be seen in long-term testing of the AC7 monitors.
