As Mitch Gross of AbelCine showed at NAb, the new Phantom camera can record five seconds of uncompressed RAW 4K at 1,000 frames per second. A 2K resolution at a frame rate of 2,000 fps is also possible.

The camera has a 35 mm CMOS sensor with a resolution of 4096×2304 and a dynamic range of 12+ stops. The small and lightweight camera body is expected to provide recording and playback functions on both sides and have an easy-to-use menu interface. According to the manufacturer, PL, PV, Nikon F/G and Canon EF mounts are available.

Naturally, the Phantom Flex4K can also be used as a normal film camera. At 23.98 fps, it is said to be capable of recording for hours. CineMag IV magazines are used as the recording medium.

Depending on its equipment and feature configuration, the camera will cost between 109,000 and 164,000 dollars. Anyone prepared to pay a 2,500 dollar deposit can reserve a model. You can pre-order the Phantom 4K camera here.

Delivery is expected to begin no earlier than the end of October. The camera at NAB is a fully functional demonstration model in which not all future features have yet been implemented.
