The reason this is possible is said to be observations of the buffer in both cameras, which stores 14-bit DNG individual frames in Live View mode. This should make it possible to create uncompressed 2K videos at 2,040 x 1,428 pixels. The problem, however, is that the enormous amount of data at this resolution makes the recording time extremely short, and only a few frames can be saved.
This RAW data recording option could nevertheless be interesting for photographers who do not want to film. It gives them photos in which the camera mirror does not move because of Live View mode, resulting in considerably less wear when taking very many shots.
