With the HXR-IFR5 firmware upgrade, users can record continuous 120/240 fps HFR in 2K as well as 120 fps for four seconds in 4K in a "burst" recording mode.
The HXR-IFR5 interface receives uncompressed Raw data, metadata, timecode and start/stop signals from the NEX-FS700E via 3G-SDI. The FS700 Raw data is stored on AXS memory cards in the AXS-R5 Raw recorder (the data can be screened and converted in the freely available Raw Viewer software).
Users can record simultaneously in 4K with the AXS-R5 and in HD with the NEX-FS700, both with identical start/stop frame and timecode.
The interface unit’s LCD display shows data on recording time, frame rate, timecode and, of course, battery status.
The interface unit is available now and is intended to cost 2,500 euros.
