The First VFX Class

Beyond Hands on HD takes place from July 8 to 12 in Hanover. A VFX fundamentals class will also be offered for the first time this year.

In this class, Marco Del Bianco of Day for Night and Frank Kaminski of Jumping Horse Film will teach VFX approaches such as virtual backlot, set extensions and full CGI through practical exercises. 

In the camera masterclass, a 2K and 4K workflow will be rehearsed under the direction of DoP Geoff Boyle. In the TV movie class, Thomas Bresinsky will focus on digital 35mm cameras. By contrast, the HDTV class with Ulrich Moers will address how to shoot correctly for HDTV and which cameras and workflows are common among broadcasters and production companies. In the independent class, DP author Uli Plank and Christoph Janetzko will cover the use of DSLR cameras. At the conference on July 11 and 12, this year’s main topics are the digital workflow and shooting on virtual sets. 

The participation fee for the workshop classes is 900 euros. A reduced fee is available to members of various associations. The conference participation fee is 48 euros for companies and 35 euros for private individuals.
