According to Avid, the new FrameFlex tools can accelerate the workflow with high-resolution material considerably. The feature allows high-resolution media to be used directly for HD or SD projects. Dynamic Media Folders improve and simplify file-based workflows because non-creative media processes such as copying, consolidation and transcoding tasks run automatically in the background.
In addition, the new waveform performance has been improved, and track selection for relinking, spanned markers and a window for licence, hardware and AMA information have been added. According to Avid, Media Composer 7 can start and stop background services, and the audio mixer has been improved overall.
Media Composer 7 is compatible with Mac and Windows and is available for 986.51 euros. An upgrade from version 6.5 is available for 296.31 euros.
