The real-time editing software with 64-bit architecture handles 4K, 3D, HD, SD and almost any format, from 24×24 to 4Kx2K, in real time and on one timeline.
New in this version is support for third-party hardware such as I/O cards from Blackmagic. Support for Matrox and Aja is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2013. A new colour-grading workflow has also been provided: Edius 7 supports EDL project import/export with DaVinci Resolve.
The manufacturer also promises improved MPEG and H.264/AVC performance as well as better handling of large image files (such as JPG, TGA, DPX …). A Gaussian blur is intended to provide more effective blurring.
Edius Pro 7 costs 699 US dollars. Users of Edius Pro 6.5 can upgrade for 299 US dollars. For users of versions 1 to 6.0, an upgrade costs 399 US dollars.
