The EBU is a collective organization of 75 national broadcasters from Europe. The Canon EOS-1D C has now been put through its paces for recording Full HD film content according to EBU standards. According to Canon, the tests showed that the EOS-1D C is the first DSLR camera whose image quality meets the standard for film productions.
According to the test results of the professional video community, the Canon EOS-1D C has 4K resolution with exceptional HD resolution, very low aliasing and very good reproduction of colors and motion sequences. The test results also confirmed that the camera system and imaging performance of the EOS-1D C meet the recommended specifications for recording as HD Tier 1 for HD film production.

The Canon EOS-1D C has the same compact, lightweight construction as as the Canon EOS-1D X, but unlike that model it can record 4K content. 4K video is recorded with 8-bit Motion JPEG compression at 23.98P or 25P, and Full HD video (1,920 x 1,080) at frame rates up to 1080/60p—and is therefore intended to be ideal for fluid motion.
